I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

Fascinating! Here, on our side of the pond, there were monkeys in North America a long time ago. I never knew that until I read about this:
Appropriate words, since it looks very much like skeletal remains. Did you ever watch that BBC series with the Scots Professor who was digging up ancient graves? The name of the series escapes me, but it was absolutely fascinating.
I think I know the programme. The presenter made his name with the series Coast. These shells are about 45-50 million years old and just being exposed to the elements for the first time since then.

Interesting article. Britain was sub-tropical back then with crocs and stingrays.

Right. I’ll have to find it. We watched it on YouTube at the time. Really amazing stuff. Your photo is terrific, as is the haiku.

Okay. It was History Cold Case and the forensic anthropologist was Sue Black. https://www.google.ca/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=sue+black+forensic+anthropologist+bbc

Ah, not the person I was thinking then. I do recall this programme, but don’t think I watched it.

If you can track it down, it’s well worth it! I only wish there had been more episodes.
