Street artists are like busses…nothing for ages and then two come along together. This is a small piece by Fin DAC tucked away in Shoreditch and when I took the photograph I didn’t know who it was by. Then, recently I posted a piece by him from Bristol’s Upfest and I recalled this picture and can post it now.
The two pieces are very different, and the Shoreditch one is more typical of the Geisha that one normally associates with the artist. In both instances though it is the painted eye mask that gives away the artist’s identity – his signature if you like. At the time I took this I thought it was worth a snap. It was a good decision.
The cat is different. His more recent images are moving away from the geisha. He is still using the eye mask. He hasn’t been all that active of late.

I have been thinking about special posts for a while. Themes and artists, but not quite sure how to go about it.

I have only done a couple because it means getting all the images in one place. After that you just post the theme and the images. I did one on geishas. I was going to do one on roosters but…logistics.

Funny how the fur trim ends up looking like the cat’s tail, which is in fact, more like a rat’s rather than a squirrel’s. Those Sphinx cats are really remarkable. The human figure reminds me of Prince.

Hah! I hadn’t noticed about the tail.
