I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

Happy Birthday to him (and to you and especially, your wife)!🎉💐🎂
Mark Twain once noted that when he was 15 he was appalled at how stupid his father was and how 4 years later on returning home how surprised he was at how much his father had learned in the meantime. happy birthday ScooJr.
A fine observation from Mark Twain. I was a little older when I made the shock discovery at how uncertain and fallible my parents were, it was an unhappy discovery.
My own children have probably thought me to be intellectually challenged from time to time. But it is wonderful when out of the blue, they ask, Dad do you have a moment?
What I like most is it’s usually the begining of a long and interesting discussion. Most rewarding and very satisfying to know that you brought curious people into the world.

No. The reference was purely metaphorical, no other connections.

Treasure your time together, my friend. They fly off too soon. You are on the right track with the Pygmalion effect.

We are already drifting apart, but there are still some things he likes about his dad.
