Good to see that you chose to celebrate his life. He lives on in your remembrance. I try to tell my sons about my father when they are receptive as they’ve never met him. He was a good role model.
I know lots about bad male role models but I chose to learn “what not to do” from them. I’ve learned that they were victims also. Sorry for your experience though.

My father was not a good role model, but he was my father and did things his way. My children were very fond of him.
