I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

It has been at least 40 years since I heard the term Yaffle . I am fortunate as I have a regular visitor to my property every 7 to 10 days. Here though he’s just a green woodpecker, nobody would know the term Yaffle here. Fortunate too to see a greater pileated woodpecker from time to time. Difficult to get a picture of them through the trees.
So pleased you appreciated the name. There used to be a children’s tv programme called Bagpus, and there was a woodpecker wooden bookend called Professor Yaffle.

How lovely. 🙂
I used to watch Bagpuss with my little sister, but did not remember Prof Yaffle!

I seem to remember way too much tv stuff from my childhood. Clogs up my brain space it does.
