Impressive, amazing bird the magpie, I’ve not seen those numbers for years.

Thank you. There are several collective nouns for magpies but this was my favourite.

Like skat I love the use of the collective noun. Makes the whole scene imaginable. And like Bill bisgood I have not seen those numbers ever. Here in my part of the USA I have never seen a magpie. In fact I don’t think they are native to North America.

I know that there are some similar birds in S America, the blue jay from recollection.
