1695. Albert Park (4)

Without doubt, this is one of the most difficult walls in Bristol to photograph. I think I have only ever passed by once when there hasn’t been a car parked in front of it, so rather than wait for hell to freeze over I decided to give it my best shot…I think I might have got away with it (just).

The fabulous wildstyle writing is by 3Dom – you can make out the letters – and is a complex and colourful piece. I think it might have been painted at the same time as Feek’s most recent camel which adjoins this wall. 3Dom is one of only a handful of writers in Bristol who produces separate writing and street art works, both equally high quality. A great wall, but seriously in need of a couple of extra yellow lines.

One of the most famous graffiti landmarks in Bristol is in the heart of St Pauls, just off Ashley Road. It is now in its fourth incarnation (I think) and is of a camel, usually saying something in a speech bubble.

The piece is by Feek and 3Dom, and when the wall was recently rendered, I had my doubts that the camel would return, but return it did, and it is as fine as any of its predecessors.

I don’t quite know why there has been a succession of camels here, but as I said at the start, it has become something of a landmark. Increase the Peace.

Although I took this picture in July of last year, the piece is somewhat older than that and is still there today unblemished and untagged. Surely a mark of respect to the artist Soker who produced it.

I have posted quite a few of his works here, but many are lost fairly soon after their creation. This one has stood the test of time, and because of this, I am used to seeing it when driving along Ashley Road in St Pauls. It has become a bit of a landmark. Great colours.

As I post this, I am aware that about a week ago, this wall has been repainted…I think with another Soker piece.
