This is my 100th post about the amazing Upfest 2016 which happened during July in Bedminster, Bristol. At a guess I would say that I am only about half way through reporting on the pieces I photographed. Some of the remaining images probably won’t make the cut and anyway I only have a few months left to go before Upfest 2017 will be upon us.

This is a really interesting stencil piece by Eins92 who specialises in micro stencils and who has already appeared in this blog for another piece he did at the festival. In this work he has created five micro stencils of the same subject but with different densities of paint and different layers. It is an interesting piece, but one that needed studying a little.

The fine detail in these tiny pictures is remarkable. I would hate to guess how long each of the stencils takes to cut. He must have the patience of angels.
I’m really enjoying your Upfest posts; it’s great to be introduced to so many new artists, so thank you!

I am glad you are enjoying it – many of the artists are new to me too. There will be many more again this July…

I would love to get over there this year but unfortunately my work tends to get busy during July. Shame, but a trip to Bristol some time is a must!

All year round there is tons to see, and it changes so frequently. Well worth a trip.

I missed that one @ Upfest but I got a couple of his @ City of Colours though.

I would need to get a special pass from the Mrs to get to any festivals outside Bristol. ☹️

Love the detail in the stencils. I like how he changes the image but changing the paint density. Purple is my favorite color.

I think I knew that about purple.

I love the technique in this one – a lot of subtlety for such small images. How great is it that one event can fuel 100 unique (and so many more) blog posts?

Many bloggers did single posts for the whole event…I like to put a focus on each artist, but it is very time consuming.

I’ve really enjoyed reviving memories of my first visit to Upfest thanks to this blog – it also made me realise how much I missed -must try harder this year!

Thank you, I am pleased that keeping a record of it through the blog has inspired you. Still plenty to come, but feeling the pressure of time. Might get a bunch more Upfest material done this weekend.
