Very cute and so similar to ours, which are still common. Do you know why they are disappearing over there?
Iβm not entirely sure, but many British birds are in decline. Modern farming methods pick up a lot of the blame. Habitat loss and pesticides tend to be the main problems.
Thatβs right, there were all sorts of grants available from the EU for improving habitats, marginal strips included. Be interesting to see what happens when we leave the EU
Yes it will. Hopefully enough Nature will be preserved.
I still really enjoyed seeing the countryside last summer as I travelled all over by train, from Edinburgh to Leeds to Aldeburgh! π

Ah I hadn’t thought of that, but now I seem to remember something about farmer’s being asked to leave more unploughed land near the hedgerows?
