Doors 64
Well I’m back from my short holiday in the French Alps, and have a few doors from there to share with you, but probably in a week or two. This week I am going to share five Bristol doors from alms houses and public houses… both rich veins to tap when searching for some door action.
Seeing these doors, which I consider to be fairly ordinary, as I publish them makes me realise that it is all too easy to take things for granted – one or two of them are crackers.
Enjoy…

Many more doors to be admired by following the links at the end of the brilliant Norm 2.0 blog: Thursday Doors β Norm 2.0
Until next time,
Scooj.
We don’t have almshouses in the States any more. May be that’s why we have so many homeless people. We have homeless shelters but they are strictly temporary. Just another one of those separated by a common language moment but I’m getting educated. π

Many of ours are private residences now, but not all. We have shocking homelessness problems here too.

The French Alps – did not realize there was so much poverty here. But where isn’t – the homeless population in California seems to grow every year … Great doors though!

Hope you had fun in the French Alps. Was there quite a lot of snow? The two doors that vie for attention with their brightly colored buildings aren’t going to get that much attention. The others one are quite nice. I guess if you have an ordinary door, make your house extraordinary and vv. :-_

Great time in the Alps. Spectacular skiing conditions.

Great!! My s-i-l said the Vogses got lots of snow, so I figured all the mountains did.

Nice finds. These are all quite unique. I noticed they all seemed to be built to different widths. I get the feeling that this was decided based on who or what would be going through each one on a regular basis. If so then I like this idea.
Looking forward to your shots from the French Alps π

Thanks, yes some of the doors are very square or wide. The French alp doors are not rustic… all modern which is a bit of a departure for me.
