I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

I had to go back and re-read Mistletoe! This was just to reassure myself that the obligate parasites’ you explained was not a reference to my children. I should be kinder, aftrawl it is Christmas.
How curious. I think I will have to do some research of my own to discover more about this plant. I remember as a kid going tp an apple orchard in Easter Compton just off the road to Severn Beach cutting Mistletoe for Christmas. Maybe I was a Druid in a former life cutting it with a golden sickle for Yule.
Nice work Scooj!

Oh yes and quiet too.
on another note; is it true that Mistletoe will only grow on Oak and Apple trees? if it is, I wonder why.

I believe it can grow on other trees too. A friend of mine posted some photographs of mistletoe on silver birches on Facebook today.

Wow! Your mistletoe are very healthy. Ours are usually barely discernible.

The trees in this area have a very healthy crop of mistletoe, but I understand it is in decline.
