I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

But you are running
Keep at it and who’s to say
You won’t do 10K
Slowly but surely my friend
When I started swimming I had to stop at the end of each length, pretending to adjust my goggles, but in actual fact to fight for breath.
Fast forward a couple of years of hard training and I was swimming 200 lengths or just over 3 miles or exactly 5km non stop pretty much every single day.
It’s what made me happy . . .
I guess it does take some discipline but for me I did it because it made me feel great
The best I felt every day was when I was just leaving the health club after completing a 3 mile swim and having had a 30 minute sauna and a long shower.
I think it’s easier to do something if you enjoy doing it
So you just need to work at running until you enjoy it and then slowly but surely the rest will follow

Not sure if my old body will ever allow me to enjoy it, but I will keep persevering.

When I came to the US many years ago I weighed 10 stone exactly, nowadays I check in at 14. More exercise is called for.

Sadly! with modest exercise. I lose almost pound per week.

Not a flattering self portrait but I couldn’t help chuckling with your self deprecating humour.
