Doors 292 – Doors of Sheffield
Time flies. I can’t believe that it was November 2023 when I went on tour with my daughter to check out potential universities. Since that time she decided to go to Leeds and has just successfully completed her first term there. I have to say that I was quite taken with Sheffield, a city I hadn’t been to before, and would have been quite happy if she had accepted a place there. As it is, Leeds is my paternal ancestral home and I am very happy that she is there.
The doors this week were snapped up during the short visit we made, and unlike most of my city doorscursions, this is a one-off post from Sheffield, which I hope you enjoy:

So that’s it for another week. May I wish you a very happy weekend.
If you have made it this far, you probably like doors, and you really ought to take a look at the No Facilities blog by Dan Anton who has taken over the hosting of Thursday Doors from Norm 2.0 blog. Links to more doorscursions can be found in the comments section of Dan Anton’s Thursday Doors post.

I like Sheffield too. A fine city with an industrial past that makes for interesting buildings, and doors, of course.

That’s a great collection of doors, Steve. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I really like that first black door.

These are terrific! Now I’ll have that old sixties song “Green Door” in my head all day!

Ear worms like that are a little bit annoying. Some time ago I posted a red door with the words I see a red door and I want it painted black – couldn’t shake it for days.

Yes, and typically they are there n your head if you wake up in the middle of the night.

Wonderful rich colors on all the doors in your gallery presentation, Stephen.
I like Art Deco, the two you presented here are fine examples with the green door accents.
My favorite is the red electric door. Each element of the framing looks like it was placed into an extravagant puzzle of differing styles that work…quite nicely I might add!
Great photos. I enjoy how you capture a bit of the surrounding environment in your photos like the mossy stone path leading up to the Leader House.
Most excellent share ! Thank you.

The Raven door looks like a sentry standing at arms, me fancy!
