Nips has had a strong winter and managed to get out often, when others have preferred the warmth and comfort of their homes. This is one of a string of winter pieces and continues with her consistency and quality.

The bronze/brown letter fills are beautifully accompanied by a turquoise midline and dots that run through all of her letters. It is interesting that she left out any decoration in the tittle (dot of the i), making it a point of interest. Set on a purple background, the piece is finished with a black drop shadow some beaded dots and small starbursts. Great work from Nips.
Stephen, I have not had much spare time) medical appointments) these past couple of days to visit and look at your postings in detail, so I am pleased with your commentary. I would have totally missed the point you make about no dots inside the dots on the letter i. It certainly helps me as a reader to appreciate and enjoy what I am seeing. It’s just like being there standing on the street.

Thank you so much for the feedback. I often wonder if it would be simpler just to post the images and the artists, but am pleased that the additional commentary serves a purpose. Your feedback gives me the energy to keep writing about this stuff. 😁

I’m glad the feedback is useful. Remember you are one of the only contacts I have left who can keep me up to date with what’s happening in my hometown. My sole surviving sibling lives in Warwickshire and like me has not been back to Bristol in a long time. Added to this my low vision is not conducive to seeing the detail you describe. I hope you’ll let your artist friends know that their work is appreciated by others as far away as Minnesota. Nigel

Nigel, I am very please to be able to be able to bring you news of Bristol, and I will of course let artists know that their work is appreciated far, far away.
