In recent weeks, Corupt has been painting loads of pieces, concentrating his efforts on the M32 roundabout, and this STICK piece is an absolute belter from the very highly regarded Hungarian graffiti writer.

This beauty showcases Corupt’s class and skill in equal measure. The letters are superbly designed and the proportions work so well. It is the fills which I find most captivating, especially the translucent effect where the letter ‘T’ crosses over the letter ‘I’. BS3 is a postcode reference (which is actually in the Bedminster area of south Bristol). Rounding off the piece is Corupt’s trademark border, which has about an inch of separation from the letters and drop shadows, framing the writing uniquely.

I said that I would bring you more pieces by Jevoissoul, and I am true to my word. Jevoissoul is a new artist trying his hand at painting walls and making a good fist of it from what I have seen so far, and he is in a bit of a hurry, having painted several small pieces in the Brunel Way/Dean Lane area. His name is interesting, and I guess is a corruption of Je vois soul – I see soul.

In this character portrait piece our hero is wearing a cap with the postcode BS3 on it and smoking a roll-up. The word SLOW accompanies the piece, and is seen on many of his other pieces too. Everything about Jevoissoul’s work and character suggests a pretty chilled and laid back person, or at least that is how I read it. I expect we’ll be seeing a lot more from the artist in the coming months, I have a feeling he is only just getting started.

Great colours, great graffiti writing. There isn’t an awful lot more to say about this lovely piece from Corupt, on the Mina Road side of the M32 roundabout. I’m not sure whether I prefer his STICK lettering or his CORUPT lettering, each offers something different, but I would probably say his most memorable pieces have been STICKs.

I have seen dozens of photographs of this piece on Instagram, and it certainly seems to have been popular. It is beautifully crafted and the fills are so well worked and have great variety. The BS3 refers to the postal code, and often appears on Corupt’s work. A really lovely piece of writing.

2578. St Werburghs tunnel (144)

This is a really nice piece by an artist I call Corupt (because that is what he most commonly writes, although he also writes Stik) unusually he has written BS3 in this piece which is a postcode reference to the Southville and Bedminster area of Bristol (south of the river). It is unusual for an artist to paint a postcode outside the area of that postcode.

The piece is beautifully painted, with a fine spotty fill and nice 3D shading on the letters. My guess is that Corupt may have been a bit pissed off that his background was about six inches shy on the right hand side, it would certainly annoy me. It matters little to the overall quality of the piece.
