Haha! I love this three character piece by Mr Crawls. A simple, and rather curious design of characters that conveys emotions and humour in equal measure. As you might expect, the threesome are painted onto a chrome background, one of the signatures of Mr Crawls and his painting pal Mote.

The characters have plenty about them, even though they are composed mainly of eyes and shoulders. The middle one has a rather expressive mouth, and the shading in the eyes of the green ones gives the impression that they are looking inwards. I rather like these abstract beings that Mr Crawls has developed, and I think he likes them too.
This trio of pieces in the tunnel, show how busy Mr Klue has been of late in his favourite spot. The one on the left was painted a day or two before the other two, which I think might have been created in a single session.

The left-hand piece, as with all of them, spells KLUE and has a green base palette. Ephemeral, smoky, abstract letters are part of the USP I would expect to see from Mr Klue and he rarely disappoints. There is little more to add from these three pieces, other than their colour differences.

Pinks and purples dominate in this middle piece, with some yellow highlights along some edges.

Finally, the trio is rounded off on the right with a piece that is predominantly white, again with some yellow highlights. All three together show how Mr Klue’s abstract writing is based around the same simple concept, but can look completely different depending on the design details and colour palette. A busy man.
No surprises this week as I continue to share more lovely doors from Porto, Portugal. There is a little bit of a theme this week along the lines of pairs or trios of doors. I very much hope you enjoy them.

There is little doubt that I will look back on my trip to Porto, with my daughter in June 2022 as one of the highlights of the year, and I might even go as far to say of the decade. It is a visually rich city and culturally fascinating, divided up into distinct areas for shopping, port manufacture, residential, administrative etc.
I still have a few remaining doors to share from this trip… I do hope you don’t get too bored.
