Constantly out there in the background, rarely taking centre stage, is the magnificent Trafficity with his incredibly consistent form of letters spelling out ZIOM. This time, the PAD crew member ha painted on the swimming pool wall behind the railings.

Every time I see Trafficity’s work, I wonder if there is an extra line of letters running across the top, in this case the purple section, or whether it is just an artefact of his letter styling. I guess that I’ll just have to ask him next time I see him, although because He doesn’t paint all that frequently, it might be some time before that happens. It is always great to see his work.

Another rather nice piece rescued from my archive, this time by Trafficity in May 2018. I know that each time I dive through old folders, I will find more of these pieces that for whatever reason never saw the light of day, and actually, I quite like ‘discovering’ them… it feels like getting a bit of a present.

The letters say ZIOM and take the form and style that Trafficity uses, which is rather unique. There is a kind of symmetry to the whole word, which although not a palindrome, is almost visually palindromic. The muddy dull colours, which are not my favourite, somehow just work well – perhaps it is the splash of blue background that helps.

It is always great to meet a new artist, and on this particular day there were a lot of artists painting in Dean Lane skate park and I knew all of the except Trafficity who painted this fabulous stylised piece of writing which spells out ZIOM. Trafficity is another Polish artist and paints with compatriots Cort and Laic217 under the PAD crew label.

The green-blue tones with horizontal transitions are very nicely done, with lots of little detailed pixels and blocks dotted about the letters. There are some lovely details and scrolls through some of the holes in the letters too. ZIOM actually means ‘dude’ or ‘mate’ in Polish, and is a pretty cool thing to be writing, I reckon. I look forward to seeing more from Trafficity before too long.
