Doors 281 – Doors of Central London – Part II – March 2024
I got my knickers in a twist last week with Thursday doors, and published my post on Friday, which was perhaps a reflection of my physical state at the time, suffering from what I didn’t know then was Covid. I feel a whole lot better today, and I am making a good recovery. Fortunately I have been able to postpone my much-awaited fishing trip to Cornwall for a couple of weeks, so all in all, things have worked out ok.
This is the second set of doors from a trip I made to London in March this year, photographed on a walk after a workshop I was facilitating from Holborn to Bloomsbury. The doors reflect a reasonably affluent part of town, and I hope you enjoy them.

I think that there will be one more post from this particular collection next time, and then I’ll move on to something else. May I wish you all a happy weekend, and my thoughts are with those suffering storms and those suffering conflicts. Keep safe.
If you have made it this far, you probably like doors, and you really ought to take a look at the No Facilities blog by Dan Anton who has taken over the hosting of Thursday Doors from Norm 2.0 blog. Links to more doorscursions can be found in the comments section of Dan Anton’s Thursday Doors post.

I’m glad you’re starting to feel better and that you could reschedule the fishing trip. These are wonderful doors, I especially like the black ones, even the floating one, although I hope that’s roped off inside.

Thank you. Much improved. I worry about that hanging door.

These are some elegant doors but what is that floating door for?

I couldn’t begin to tell you. It makes me nervous.

Great news that you are feeling better.
Wonderful photos. The first photo is amazing with that row of windows and doors. My favorite, believe it or not, is the precarious floating door…intriguing what it leads too/out of?
Lovely doors with beautiful tile work out front, I first thought it was outdoor carpet for a minute there…LOL!
Great sharing as always Stephen! Have a blessed day@

Darn Covid! So tired of dealing with that threat but I supposed it’s here to stay. Love the doors!!

So sorry you’ve had COVID. Not a good thing. These doors and tiles are beauties, and the doors with the granite pillars are exceptional! I’m glad to know there will be more.

This looks like a part of London I’d like to wander! The photo of the Staple Inn is my favorite. The lines in the timber are almost mind-bending, horizontal and vertical, parallel and perpendicular.

The Staple Inn is one of only a handful of original Tudor buildings still standing in London. Many were lost during the blitz.
