You got me there – I got confused with my soles/souls. Forgive me, as a marine biologist I am used only to sole. I am correcting the haiku, so this conversation may seem a bit odd.

Never thought of shoes have a soul but I think you may be right. My shoes are perfect punishment for the old sinner who wears them. Ha!

I was goin to play with the soul thing, but felt the haiku format jut didn’t give me enough space. Glad you did though!

That’s the better remedy. I think soul works just fine. It works very well especially for masters of imperfection like me.
