I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

I’m fascinated by your photo. Cool shot with the light playing with the ivy; which clings to the window like a curtain. Your words are beautiful — “pallid fragments of light penetrate” is a lovely phrase.
Thank you. Once again the picture inspired the words, with a little Shakespeare thrown in for good measure (Romeo and Juliet). Actually there is some deliberate stuff in there about the pallid light, because Juliet’s complexion, pale, was interpreted as a sign of her virginity. The title comes from Romeo’s speech which begins ‘what light from yonder window breaks…’ Wow…did I really think these things? Most of my poems are not so thought out.
That’s quite the inspiration, Scooj! I certainly love the stories behind works. I’ve known that white represents purity, but I had no idea that extended to complexion, as well! Yikes. I’m currently quite tan from the summer. What a coquettish trollop am I! 😳
