This was unquestionably one of the most memorable portraits of Upfest 2016. It is a face with a wonderful expression and crazy hair. The artist of this piece is Xemayo, about whom I know nothing and there wasn’t even a biography in the festival programme.

From his Facebook page I can make out that he comes from Valencia in Spain and his full name is Xemayo Gonzalez Vidal.

It would appear from looking at his feed that much of his street artwork takes on the form of these large portraits, often pulling faces. I love this upfest piece.
This was part of a mega collab by Wall Artitude – a great bunch. Not sure you would have seen the finished piece but it was the absolute last piece to be finished in South Park on the Monday. There were a few of us hanging around waiting for theme to finish it then the security threw us all out and slammed the gate behind us! Check out the detail on some of these pieces. Truly awesome (scroll down) https://urbanartalacarte.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Artist%3A%20Wall%20Artitude

PS – there is a group photo of the crew near the end – taken minutes after they finished the final piece. A great shame all too few people got to see it.

Oh My, That was an awesome wall, and I definitely didn’t get to see it completed. It was my first Upfest (can you believe it?) and I didn’t circle around too much over the two days, subsequently I missed a lot of completed pieces. I have some unfinished images of this wall, but it was nowhere like the pictures you have. Great stuff.
