Diced Mango is an artist reasonably new to me, having only been aware of his street pieces for about six months or so. He has become rather busy lately and his letters are appearing in various spots around the city.

This piece, from January this year was in St Werburghs tunnel and shows how the artist plays with shapes and shadings to make the letters look like they are twisted a little. Clever stuff and it gives me ideas for things that I can try out at home. Several more to come from Diced Mango soon.
I am curious. When you take to the streets with stencils and spray cans of paint in hand, will we be able to recognize your work by your signature of Scooj or will you go by a different street name?

If and when, it will have to be Scooj. The letters are good for writing and the OO allow for great 👀.

This is a wonderful reply insomuch that you did not say – Hell no, I’m no going to do that! I can just see it in my minds eye. Some old Cogger (like me strolling through Gaunt’s Ham park one morning sees this masterpiece signed by Scooj. Who’s this Scooj e he asks himself and why are those empty eyes looking at me. What beautiful colors and what is this 5-7-5? Paint on Macbeth.

Thank you for the optimism. I really think I am going to have to practice for a year or two before I hit the streets. Once I find my ‘thing’ then I might get a little more confident. At the moment I am just experimenting.
