Your kitchen sounds like my bathroom lol . . .
I have a concrete rubble floor after taking up the old ceramic tiles and paying for some really nice porcelain tiles to replace them.
On the day they were to be picked up and laid I found out the tiling company had gone into administration . . .

She used to sleep in the kitchen. Two reasons that no longer happens. 1) kitchen being re worked ( for more than a year now!) 2) the dog.
