2397. Brunel Way Bridge (17)

Although I can’t be sure, I think this ephemeral portrait might be the work of Annika Pixie… it certainly has many of the ingredients that are common to her work, the lightness of touch and delicate nature of the subject, but I have not seen her paint many walls like this one.

As I write this, my curiosity got the better of me and I had a look at Annika’s Instagram feed, and sure enough there is a little video of this piece, filmed in only the way she can do such things. I love her touch, which is full of subtlety and magic and in such stark contrast to the macho work one is used to seeing. Nice one Annika.

I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

  1. There is a bit of a story to go with this one which I will give you before I post it myself

Pixie was looking for somewhere to paint because some film makers were coming over from Boston, Massachusetts to make a documentary about her and her artwork.
None of the walls she knew seemed suitable as this had to be painted over a couple of days whilst the film makers filmed and also interviewed her, so I took her to this rather quiet place with the tranquil view of the gorge and the bridge and it was perfect for all of them.

I felt really blessed to watch this whole piece come together although unfortunately you are missing half of it as there were originally two faces.

I will post this piece sometime soon but have been waiting for Pixie to leave us once more for sunnier climes which she has now done.
