A routine screening

for signs of bowel cancer

sigmoidoscopy.

* In the UK the NHS offers a bowel cancer screening appointment to all adults at age 55. I had mine today, and thankfully all seems to be ok. It is free screening programmes like this that do so much to protect the health of the nation that are at risk of being ‘privatised’ should we leave Europe without a deal. Trump already has his eyes on our health service, and I am sure he is not alone.

I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

  1. While the citizens of the US have been asleep, our government have been bought and paid for by big money Political Action Committees. Our democracy has become a plutocracy. The narrative against socialized medicine for fear of higher taxes on the citizens are a smokescreen to hide the fact that the wealthiest 1% enjoy tax shelters.

  2. Over here, we have a screening kit that indicates whether or not a deeper investigation is necessary. We do this every two years. I can still remember my father going for his “sigs” . though. Always clear, which bodes well for me, along with my vegan diet.
