Doors 233 – Lincoln City doors (Part VI) – Lincoln, Steep Hill area
The doors just keep on coming from my short stay Lincoln in July this year. These doors are mostly on Steep Hill, a street that heads down from the Cathedral and castle towards the station. Unfortunately I didn’t get time to visit the castle, maybe next time.
I have a very busy day ahead, and little time to prepare this post, so I will get straight in to it:

I think there will be a couple more weeks of Lincoln doors before I launch myself into doors of Umbria, Italy… brace yourself. Have a great weekend ahead.
If you have made it this far, you probably like doors, and you really ought to take a look at the No Facilities blog by Dan Anton who has taken over the hosting of Thursday Doors from Norm 2.0 blog. Links to more doorscursions can be found in the comments section of Dan Anton’s Thursday Doors post.

There’s lot I love about this post. My favourite is the bright blue door on a timber framed building.
But I also love the three black doors after that.
The red brick house are very charming and very old!
The small grey cellar door is very intriguing. I could imagine that as a good photo prompt!

These are great doors, Steve. I love that small cellar door. You can certainly tell why it’s called the Steep Hill section. It reminds me of the town where I grew up.

Thanks Dan. For every door photographed, there were several escapees!

I love the blue door and the last one is a perfect shabby chic door, but that first stone building and its door? Oh, my!!!

I agree, the stone building wins it for me.

Hello again Scooj,
I think Lincoln should be paying you some commission for these posts or at least slipping you a few treats or something. I’ve all but packed my bag and headed over. I’m afraid it isn’t so much the doors that have lured me in, but these timber-framed buildings which look like some of my efforts at not using a ruler to draw a margin at school. They’re so sweet! So thanks very much for the trip. In fact, I might head over there on Google maps now. I’m just winding down to go to bed and a little walk around Lincoln would be rather relaxing as long as I don’t delve in too deeply…or get lost. That happens to me on Google Earth quite a bit.
Best wishes,
Rowena

Thank you. Lincoln is a gem, but it is in a remote area of east England, and the landscape around it is very flat, agricultural and not much to write home about. I think many people just don’t travel to those parts. Parts of the city are a bit grotty, but the centre is so full of history and character.
