  • 30 Days Wild is an initiative organised by the Wildlife Trusts. It is an annual challenge event, for those who choose to participate, to do one ‘wild’ thing a day throughout the month of June. I will try to write a nature haiku every day if I can, as my contribution to this celebration of wildlife and biodiversity. I did this back in 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.

I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

    1. One discovery – why do we care about nature? After all, in geological time, our presence on Earth is fleeting. We care because we live here now, and we are 100% dependent on nature. It nourishes us in so many ways, and without it, we are all impoverished. At this NNR there are some of the world’s oldest animal fossils circa. 500,000,000 years old… unimaginable really, but wondrous too. These things are important.

      1. That was wonderful. I agree completely. Nature can live without us, but we can’t live without nature. The fossils sound amazing. I’m sure seeing them was very exciting. Thank you.
