I managed to distract the dog and neither of them spotted each other – a good outcome for canine/feline relations.

I wish. It is the first time I have seen it, and I haven’t seen it since. I think it is new in the area, and figuring out its boundaries.

Oh, she’s focused on something, getting ready to move one way or the other. Gorgeous cat.

The cat had hit a spot of trouble. Ahead was a spiky pyrocanthus bush and there was no getting past it, so she was mewing vigorously asking for help. I couldn’t quite reach her, but she figured out a way of backing up to a corner in the fencing behind her and then managed to turn around at the corner. I doubt she’ll be making the same mistake again.
