426. Moon Street (12)

Laic 217 is rather a prolific artist in Bristol and this is one of his pieces from earlier this year. It seems I can hardly look anywhere and not see one of his works. As I write this, I found another of his pieces in St Werberghs Tunnel today which I’ll get round to writing about sometime.

Here he has collaborated with Cort, about whom I know absolutely nothing, so if anyone has something to add about him, please let me know. As is often seen with Laic 217’s work, he has sprayed his name and a character alongside. The character bears all the branding and look of acid house.

I have said many times in my posts, that this kind of work is what Bristol is all about and Laic 217 is one of those rare artists who seems to spray all around the City…here in Stokes Croft, at Deaners, at the M32 and in St Werberghs. Just gotta like him.

411. Moon Street (11)

There is something comforting about seeing Laic217’s work. He tends to paint in two forms: writing of his name with a character incorporated or an acid-house melting face.

This is the third of these melting faces that I have come across and it is a great addition to the series of which the first and second have both been posted on this blog.

I like his work and see how it is getting sharper with each new piece I come across. Laic217 is a prolific artist and appears to favour Moon street and the M32 roundabout for his work. I love his stuff, and I think it really epitomises the Bristol scene – raw, edgy and fun.

235. Wilder Street (2)

Another great find, that I had seen on the Interweb, but tracked down recently on one of my walks. This is another acid house trippy piece by Laic217 similar to the one on Moon Street. In this case though the face is melting vertically rather than horizontally.

There is something about Laic217’s pieces that I really like. They are quite raw, but rather potent. They will stand out in a crowd, so there is something special there. I will be posting more of his work soon.
