Ophelia’s edge

brings premature Autumn dusk;

heavy yellow skies.

Thinking ahead

Garlic bulbs purchased

ready to plant tomorrow;

thinking of summer.

Ophelia enters

October records

due to be broken as the

warm weather moves in.

Fog

.

Caterpillar train

cocooned in a yellow mist;

countryside obscured.

Grey day

Damp air invades me

extinguishing any fire

or optimism.

Kite

In blustery winds

empty skies become busy,

dazzling with colour.

Autumn

A new month begins

bringing with it a season

colourful and cold.

Transition

Delicate whisper

of Autumn’s steady advance

time to button up.
