This is the middle piece of a Zinso-fest from earlier in the month underneath Brunel Way. The white buffed wall was the perfect opportunity for Zinso to practice his writing, and practice he did, turning out six pieces, three large and three small.

The bubble writing in the larger piece is beautifully decorated, each letter having its own colour scheme and one or two with spots as well. The ‘O’ at the end has a cheeky face for good measure. Similarly, the smaller signature piece in red also has a cheeky face, but appears to have a letter (S) missing. The full wall is shown below.

I will have mentioned that Zinso has been rather busy of late, and also that he appears to be relatively new to Bristol. How wrong am I? I was looking through archives and noticed that I have posted pieces by the artist way back in 2019 and 2020, but those were character pieces and not writing. I can’t believe that in the intervening years I haven’t noticed his work, so have to assume that he has found a new burst of energy and time recently

This is a rather neat piece of bubble writing with a really deep 3D drop shadow, lifting the piece nicely off the wall. The piece is really nicely finished and greatly superior to most bubble writing that I see, that is usually associated with quick throw ups. Loads more to come soon, and below are a couple of his pieces from a few years ago.

I sometimes wonder if I might get a little tired of posting street art, and occasionally I do get tired, but my interest simply doesn’t wane, and as long as there are street/graffiti artists out there painting, I will be writing. Admittedly, I might slow down a little, but that is life. There are a few artists in Bristol who provide a real tonic for those periods when I need a little uplift, and Bloem is without question one of those.

In this piece Bloem has decorated some rather nice bubble writing with grey flowers and flower buds, keeping the whole piece rather subtle and modest. Her improvement and progress really has been quite remarkable, and she seems to turn the dial up a notch with each new piece. Unfortunately, this one didn’t last too long, but it was an uplifting beacon while it remained.

It took me a while to register that this excellent piece of bubble writing was by Bloem, mainly because it is quite unlike anything I have seen her paint before, and showcases her extraordinary talent for graffiti writing as well as her street art pieces and not to mention her jewellery making skills too.

In this piece, the letters BLOEM are presented as an overlapping sequence in different colours for each one. There is a lot of study and thought that has gone into this piece. Bubble writing is usually associated with quick throw ups, or ‘throwies’, but this is a clean and tidy piece with some deliberate shadings alongside the letters and white accent spots, to help provide depth. This is an accomplished piece from arising star in the Bristol scene.
