I was rather lucky to be in the right place at the right time as Two Face was drafting up this piece on the wall. I haven’t come across the artist before, and he tells me that he has only recently moved to Bristol, so I will be on the lookout for his work, for sure.

The combination piece is really rather good, incorporating a hand and fired gun on the left and some rather nicely presented writing on the right, with very fine fill work indeed. Lots of textures, techniques and perspectives in this debut (to Natural Adventures) piece. Bravo!

Ooh! How brilliant to see Mind 49 returning to the streets after a relatively quiet start to the year. Commensurate with his last piece at the Greenbank spot in January, Mind 49 has combined a photorealistic portrait with a cartoon illustration, carrying some threat and menace.

The portrait is superb, painted in his unique style that creates what I would term a blurred photorealism, rather than some of the perfect sharp pieces that you see from time to time. The cartoon parts begin around the main character’s neck and show him holding a pistol. In the background, a hooded character looks on. I love the way that Mind 49 brings these two very different styles together and makes them sit side by side effortlessly. Looking forward to more as the days get longer and weather warms up.

4057. Sparke Evans Park (19)

This piece is from another birthday celebration, this time for Nightwayss. I am sure that these birthday jams are becoming more of a thing than they were a few years ago. Maybe there is a safety in numbers thing or perhaps there are simply more friendships emerging from the growing pool of talent in Bristol.

This small piece is by Morph, who more commonly paints at the M32 Spot, is beautifully painted and really powerful, which is made all the more impactful by its modesty. A young woman dressed in a kimono is brandishing a gun and there are target sights dotted around the piece. Disturbing, edgy and beautiful all in one piece. Very nicely done.
