The nicest street art dog walk that I do fairly regularly is the circuit up to the Narroways nature reserve which loops back down the hill and through St Werburghs Tunnel. The dog particularly likes this walk too. I get to combine three loves – my dog, nature and street art, all in the space of 45 minutes.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this unlikely piece by 3Dom on a wall just up the hill from the climbing centre. This wall has hosted a lot of terrible throw ups and tags, but 3Dom has done it proud. I love his organic designs like this one that have a familiar and yet other-worldly look to them. A nice treat for the owners of the house whose garden wall this is. 3Dom really is awesome.

In recent weeks I have been enjoying a new walk route with the dog, up at a little nature reserve called Narroways which rises high above St Werburghs is nestled in between railway tracks and crosses over St Werburghs tunnel. There are a couple of railway bridges along the pathway, and this piece by Dazcat was on a wall alongside one of them.

A cat with two heads, possibly Siamese twin cats, stare out from the wall at passers-by. As Daz Cat pieces go, I imagine he painted this quite quickly, and it has the simple charm of his earlier works, no complex story underpinning the portraits, just a couple of cats. A nice find.

There is a little pathway close to the entrance of St Werburghs tunnel that leads up to a small nature reserve bounded by railway lines. The reserve is on the top of a hill and has some lovely views of Bristol and some interesting perspectives of the main lines coming into Bristol Temple Meads station. Of course, where you have railways and hills, you also have bridges, and where you have railway bridges there is a chance you might get some graffiti. That is the case here.

This is a rather unhappy, even angry, looking cat from Daz Cat. I think I prefer his happier cats. This one is mostly chrome and stands out amongst the other graffiti writing and throw ups around it. Worth the detour, and a nice peaceful oasis in North Bristol.
