Werm is producing, in my view, some of his best writing work at the moment, having pulled back a little from his highly technical and complex pieces. There is something a little more accessible about his graffiti writing now, that hasn’t always been the case.

The colours in this piece spelling out WERM are certainly eye-catching and benefit from the buffed black wall, which enhances the impact of the writing. I suspect, consciously or otherwise, that the selection of purple and yellow for the letters might be related to the colour wheel, where they are complementary colours – they do work well together. I wonder if we’ll get to see Werm incorporating characters in his work, he would be more than capable of doing it and has done so once or twice in the past. I’ll ask him next time I see him.

What an absolute beauty from Mote. Tucked away in a little corner of Cumberland Basin is this magnificent example of one of Mote’s monsters, and quite possibly one of his best to date.

I really like Mote’s attention to detail and clean work. All of his fills are always solid and his fine lines clean. These monsters are on the opposite end of the spectrum to throw ups. Mote spends time on painting his characters with real diligence and accuracy. It is worth noting that some of the decorative dots around the bottom of the background incorporate the previous piece that Mote painted over. The finished pieces are imaginative and always bring a smile to my face. I love this piece.

Always tight, always pretty near perfect. I can’t think of a Dibz piece that hasn’t been meticulous in both design and execution, and if there are any I’ve yet to see them. This is yet another superb piece from Dibz in Dean Lane (his favourite spot) from a week or two back.

In most cases, Dibz buffs the wall first to ensure there is a focus on his wildstyle writing. The day glow green and pink colours stand out on the blue wall, and the design is simply outstanding. Dibz is an artist with a plan and he paints his plan and he does it well. A fine work.
