The return of Minto to Bristol has, without doubt, been a highlight of the last six months as his unique graffiti writing style has significantly impacted on the already wide spectrum of styles on offer. Although Minto doesn’t follow a fixed formula, there is a lot that is distinctive about his work, in particular, it is often vertically quite compressed.

This dazzlingly colourful piece seems to have a trainer theme going on, with at least three trainers depicted in the MINTO lettering. There are also a couple of characters peering over the top of the letters, something that Minto builds into much of his work. This is a fine example of his work and an outstanding piece.

Trainers are quite a common motif in street art, and this is a fine example from 3f Fino in the tunnel, painted during a recent paint jam with LRS crew friends. The brown shoe, nicely designed in a cartoon style, is stuck to the floor with some sticky green goo (chewing gum?), where we find the letters FINO. 3f Fino also recognises his crew with the letters LRS making it into the soul of the shoe.

Set on a red background, there is a lot to like about this piece, as it is different from the regular stuff you see on the street. 3f Fino is not short of a creative idea or two, and it is probably high time I published a gallery of his work.

As you read this post, I should be some 30,000 feet in the air, on my way to France. Timings of posts over the next week might vary, but I intend to continue posting while I am away.

2940. M32 Spot (69)

Back in October 2019 I remember seeing this piece from Panskaribas and being rather pleased about it, because it was the first I had seen for several months while the artist had been out of Bristol.

It is a rather weird and wonderful piece which has taken me rather a long time to work out. I think it is a pair of trainers joined together by a single trousered leg… peculiar, yes, but oh so very Panskaribas. I think that since then he has painted a few more pieces about the place, but I have been very neglectful and I’m not sure I have posted any of them. I must rectify that.

1441. The Bearpit (134)

This is another piece from the recent Spring paint jam in The Bearpit. It is something of a change from the norm for Mr Draws, who usually sprays his name or mountains. Here he has sprayed one of his favoured boards with a training shoe. It is rough, and vibrant, and my guess is that Mr Draws probably freestyled it.

It is a fun piece, and very much in the spirit of the paint jam, which was to ensure that The Bearpit continues as a street art gallery and spray paint area. Of course, Mr Draws has managed to incorporate some mountains just for good measure. I believe the piece was dogged after a few days, which is a pity as it is a rather uplifting work.
