It would seem that Daz Cat is rather partial to the concrete blocks up at Purdown, and whyever not? The spot is a wonderful oasis away from the bustle of the streets and has some stunning views over the north and east of Bristol, the dog particularly likes it up there, perhaps it is the lure of the stinky goats.

Daz Cat has switched things up a bit by painting this cat portrait upside down, which would completely goof me up, but I am not an artist, and maybe it is concepts like this that separate out the ways artists and non-artists see the world. The purple cat has a fine gold nose ring and a vapour trail from eyes to ears, which must be symbolic of something, and is an idea Daz Cat has used before. This is a fun piece from the cat supremo.

Although from these pictures, it might look like I photographed this while the artist was finishing off, it is an illusion – the paint paraphernalia belongs to Corupt who was painting a piece along the top of the wall. This is of course yet another outstanding work from 3Dom during a bit of an ASK paint jam celebrating Mr Jago’s birthday.

There are a number of motifs in the piece that we see a lot from 3Dom, such as eyeballs, stripy trousers, bleak landscape etc. I wonder if he has been watching the latest series of Stranger Things, as there is a gateway to the upside down maybe, or perhaps this is the upside down, the clouds might suggest it. All in all, this is just yet another outstanding surreal piece from one of the very best street artists around.

There are some artists who never need introducing because their style is so unique, and without doubt Acer is one of those artists. Although he switches up his design concepts from time to time, they are still instantly recognisable as his work.

This playful rainbow lettering piece at Greenbank uses his current style and typeface to create the word ACER, with one small twist, literally, the piece is upside down. Clever work, once again perfectly executed.

I love finding pieces by DFC1848 because they give me hope for my own artistic aspirations and his improvement over the last twelve months particularly has been exponential. DFC1848 has taken his character to new heights and developed so many ideas and incorporated new techniques.

What is obvious is that the more you practice at this game, the better you get. In this character piece, DFC1848 has switched things up a bit. Not only is the character a different animal, but it is upside down. The letters DFC are concealed within the character’s face, which is something he usually incorporates. Unfortunately, this piece only lasted a day or two, so I was rather lucky to find it.
