I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

Thank you. My evasion is certainly not deliberate…it just seems to come naturally. In this instance the poem was about the goofy eyed elephant and not really intended as a metaphor for anything. However, poetry is as much about interpretation as it is about creation.
I might try and do a few more abandoned toy haikus, there is something about toys that is deeply rooted in each of us I think. The eyes make me laugh every time I look at them.
Is this sweet haiku about the toy and the writer?

Not consciously autobiographical.

So intriguing how you don’t really answer my question! I’ll just send you my best thoughts as I always have. xo

Welcome, elephant! Whether intentional or not, this seems to represent the lives of so many people today.

We can only hope that things get better for the elephant and all it represents.

A much brighter future than the naked doll! The googly eyes are a bit disconcerting though.
