Your haiku invokes many memories of summer’s end. Scents seem to trigger a memory the most.
Do they go scrumping where you live?
Nice Haiku. I can see it in my mind’s eye, can almost smell it too. P.S. They don’t know the word scrumping in these parts. May be I need to introduce the pastime.

The allotments are fenced off, so not really. There is a collective apple pressing in the neighbouring allotment, but I have never been.

Oh how marvellous. I love the community spirit of the Allotments (my older sister has two.)
