I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

Our sense of smell can be a most potent memory-trigger. Nice haiku.
The title says so much; not just about the musty overcoat but also about the vaporous legacy he left for you to remember him by. Excellent haiku that stimulates ones senses.
It has already been dry cleaned. I took it guided by sentimental attachment, but as time passes, I don’t think I will ever wear it if I am honest, and will probably donate it to charity ( if they’ll have it).

Thank you. The coat was next to me when I was working. It is not a pleasant smell, but it reminds me of his flat.

Smells can evoke a strong memory, often unexpectedly.

I agree, the slightest hint of a smell can trigger all sorts of memories.
