  • On the news that Sir Ian ‘beefy’ Botham has been appointed by Andrea Loathsome as a trade envoy for Australia. This is how it works. It is not what you know, but who you have pleased along the way. Ever was it thus in politics. At least he won’t get paid for the role.

  3. He was a childhood hero of mine playing brilliantly for both Somerset and England.
    He definitely fits into the category of ‘Never Meet Your Hero’ though.
    A rude arrogant insolent human that despite his charity work remains on the permanent ‘Wanker’ list as far as I’m concerned.
    The Aussies as a whole totally hate him and I hope they let him know that whilst he’s there.
    As for payment, I am sure there will plenty off the books.
