I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

The idea of a mayor is a good one – if only they were impartial and not politically biased
Fully agree. I like the idea of fighting for a better Bristol, but if you have a mayoral system, you have to put up with it if you get a bad mayor. Better than too much Westminster influence.
The Mayorship has in my eyes proven to be nothing more than a Dictatorship with the ideology of one person being forced upon the electorate regardless of the hugely negative impact those decisions may have, so that would be a no from me . . .
That has always been something that should have happened without question.
It appears however that as we move further and further to the right nationally even middle of the road local politics will probably be frowned upon or made impossible by the thugs of Westminster . . .
I guess we will have to wait and see . . .

I am in favour, but it risks having a bad mayor.

Of which we already have a two for two count . . .
Thankfully for once I was on the winning side electorally speaking . . .

I’m ok with the outcome, as long as they keep Westminster politics out of Bristol.
