There has been a recent spate of graffiti writing from Corupt in recent weeks and this is a piece from the M32 roundabout is probably the pick of the bunch.  His work is interesting in that it tends to have quite a wide span from quick and dirty throw-ups to rather more considered and well executed pieces like this one.

Corupt is one of those artists who just likes to get out and paint (I guess that is actually a condition of most street artists). One of the things I have noticed about his work is that he often paints high up, which generally means his work hangs around much longer because most overwriting happens lower down the wall. This is a cheerful and sunny piece looking good in the late winter sunshine.

Although I only recently posted my first piece by Corupt, I have been aware of his work for quite a while. In all the time that I have seen his work, this is the first time I have seen anything by him on a more conventional ‘show’ wall. Usually his work is sprayed high above other pieces in spots with a high turnover.

Often colourful, he sprays his moniker with a deep perspective and variety of decorative fills. This busy piece has a candy, cakes and ice cream feel to it…maybe it is the colours and drips. Looking forward to posting more from Corupt.

This is the first time I have posted any work by Corupt although I have seen tons of his stuff over the years. As a graffiti writer I think he likes to stay well under the radar, and I have only once seen him at work, and I think he quite wanted to keep a low profile.

I have seen a lot of his work on the walls at Dean Lane skate park and here at the M32 roundabout. It seems to me that he rather favours these high up spots, often above other works. I think the idea is that if he sprays high up, his work will be there for longer. Seems to make sense to me.

I must confess that I haven’t paid too much attention to his writing, although I see quite a lot of it, but am breaking that habit now with these first two works. I haven’t yet formed an opinion about his work, which all seems to conform to a particular style format.

Both of these are colourful works, and I will enjoy posting more and seeing how his work develops over time.
