1277. Dean Lane skate park (105)

I have held on and held on to this collaboration for such a long time, because I was determined not to post it until I found out who worked on it with Dibz. Then I met Ulow a few weeks back (see my post about his Boba Fett piece) and was able to complete the puzzle.

The Dibz half of the collaboration was fairly easy to identify because I am familiar with his work and he sprays Dean Lane often enough for me to know his stuff when I see it. His writing here is very nice indeed and has quite a deep yellow border which sets it up beautifully.

The character half of the collaboration is by Ulow, and is something quite different. Set on a moody sunset skyline, a breakdancer entertains us with his contortions. The orange glow reflecting off the folds of his clothes is masterful work.

Like so many pieces at Dean Lane, this one didn’t last long, but it was a real peach.

861. Dean Lane skate park (61)

This is an absolutely wonderful piece by Dibz, featuring a character from the animated television series ‘Pinky and the Brain’. This is actually ‘the Brain’ as Pinky is somewhat skinnier and more stupid looking. Lots more from the excellent Wikipedia page on this cartoon.

What I like about this work is just how fantastically sharp and clear all Dibz’s lines are, it is a really strong technical piece. He spends a lot of time perfecting his designs before committing them to a wall, and his black book is well worth looking at on his Instagram feed.

Care has been taken, even providing a neutral grey background to help the lime green and pink stand out on this piece. One of the best on this wall for a while. Incidentally, and quite by accident, it is on the exact same space as the previous post from Inkie.

699. Raleigh Road, vector (7)

Here is a great piece of precision wildstyle from local Bedminster graffiti artist, Dibz. All of his works have this characteristic jagged look, and ere always lovely and clean.

I don’t see his work on the streets too often, but he has a fine black book from which photographs are frequently posted on his Instagram feed. Always nice to see one of his sharp pieces up close though.

461. Dean Lane skate park (22)

This is another intricate piece from Dibz dating back to June this year. Dibz lives locally and tends to save his spraying for the walls at Dean Lane skate park. I recently featured another of his works from an adjacent wall.

This is really well worked wildstyle writing, all very carefully planned from his black book. His Instagram feed is well worth a look, as it shown the extent and sheer complexity of some of his ideas. A really talented Bristol graffiti artist.

440. Dean Lane skate park (19)

A week or two back I was lucky enough to meet Dibz for the first time. Dibz is a well respected local wildstyle writer whose black book contains works that have been sprayed by crews in London and New York, so he tells me.

This piece was one that I photographed back in May, and really shows off his style. The letters are disguised, but once you know it says Dibz, you can begin to work it out. This is all part of the game for wildstyle writers. I will soon post the piece he was working on when I met him in September. How many more Bristol artists are there out there to uncover? It seems there is no end to the talent here.
