Squire is an artist whose graffiti writing I see from time to time, and which I rather like. I know very little about him, other than that he likes to paint alongside another artist, whose letters I can’t decipher and so don’t post their collaborations.

This might be the best piece I have seen to date by Squire. The asymmetrical chrome letters are bounded by a black drop shadow of sorts and a thick red border. To complete the piece, a dark blue line crashed horizontally through all of the letters. Nice work from Squire.

Squire is another artist who has had a good 2025. I know little of him, and I expect he might prefer to keep it that way. These days he tends to collaborate with another artist, but I don’t know who it is and can’t read the letters, so to date I haven’t posted any.

This is a decent chrome piece with a thin white and thick red border, set on a yellow backdrop. These are good, strong colours which help to draw the eye. Looking forward to more from the graffiti writer in 2026.

Squire has only recently come on to my radar, and I think this is the third Squire piece I have posted in recent weeks, each of them quite different, and I think I’m going to enjoy finding their pieces. It feels like having something new to collect, if that makes sense.

Painted onto a skate park ramp, these blue and black letters have a rather nice irregular, almost cartoony style. A nice white surround and red/yellow border finish the writing nicely, which, without highlights or starbursts, looks quite flat, but nonetheless interesting. I think I got to this piece while it was still quite fresh, because it hasn’t been too scuffed. Upwards and onwards with Squire.

I came across this artist for the first time earlier this year, and I have to say I am rather taken with their work. I have said before that some letters and words lend themselves really well to graffiti writing, and the word ‘SQUIRE’ seems to work very nicely indeed.

There is nothing snazzy or pretentious about this piece, written on a DIY skate ramp under Brunel Way.  The letters are almost cartoony, with solid green fills and yellow spots for decoration. Basic and appealing. I will be keeping my eyes peeled for more from Squire.

Living in Bristol is, for so many reasons, a privilege and a joy, especially if you like a dusting of cosmopolitan urban heritage and culture. There are many things to be proud of and other things, such as the trade in slaves, tobacco and alcohol, that need to be understood and processed. It is a city that has a sense of excitement and a buzz about it, and I am sure that the street/graffiti art culture adds to that sensation.

We have a lot of visiting graffiti writers and artists that come to paint here, and every time I go out taking photographs, I find work by artists I have never encountered or noticed before. This writing by Squire, isn’t a style I recognise, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are a visitor, just that I haven’t seen their stuff before. I like the letter shapes and the simple but effective black fill and purple pattern, set on a chrome background. A nice piece of writing.
