2154. Moon Street (65)

I recently posted a collaboration piece by ‘Ware’ and Jaksta from Upfest 2016, and I stated then that I wasn’t very familiar with ‘Ware’s work. Well nothing has changed there except that I now know his Instagram moniker is @mickeyraw and I able to see when he has painted new work. I found this one down in Moon Street recently, and it is a fine piece of wildstyle writing by this RAW artist.

The colours work really well together and the execution of the piece is truly first class. I am looking forward to seeing more from ‘Ware’ or do I call him Mickeyraw? I started with Ware, so will continue until I know better.

974. Upfest 2017 (34)

I know practically nothing about Jimzina other than that loads of her(?) pasteups appeared on virtually every piece of street furniture at Upfest this year. This is the first of many posts of her work, due to her prolific few days in Bristol.

I can only think that Jimzina prepared dozens of wheatpastes prior to Upfest, and spent an evening or two having a lot of fun pasting them up.

Most of Jimzina’s work seems to be drawn onto menus and other similar posters and is instantly recognisable from other wheatpasters. As far as I can make out, all the subjects of the pieces are young women striking slightly naughty poses…eye catching certainly.

There will be more to follow, amnd in the mean time I’ll try to find out more about this mysterious artist.

858. The Bearpit (75)

Well I told you he was prolific, and I have only just got started on posting pieces by J. Dior. This time we see some kind of mythological centaur/tiger hybrid, with an interesting foot at the end of its tail. There are some curious things going on in Dior’s head.

The writing ‘In the Right’ doesn’t really give many clues to what the piece is about, in fact it rather muddies the water a bit. I note that the ‘tattoo’ on the Centaur’s arm says Jadore (J’adore – ‘I love’ in French) is this deliberate or is he just playing with his name? For the time being, and until I get to ask him face to face I will continue to call him J. Dior. His style really is distinctive and unmistakable. A fun piece.
