Metro Mayor

An empty church hall

decked out with trestle tables

and three earnest clerks,

I pencil in my crosses;

my vote is cast. There it is.

I expect a very low turnout for the metro mayor election.

I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

  1. Brings back memories. My father was a very keen supporter/voter. I remember as a kid running exit polls for Anthony Wedgewood-Benn. Ah, those were the days.

      1. Sadly, with the low turn out I fear it will be the Tory candidate, which would be shame. Stephen Williams was my MP for while, and he as really rather good.

  2. We obviously don’t live that far apart as he was also my MP for quite a little while as well . . . as with all low turn outs I am also afraid of a Tory win but will be hoping for something rather better from a City that has been bucking the trend for some time now . . .
