I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

Once again, a nice haiku. Takes me back to school days and s Conker on a string ready for any challenge.
Horse chestnuts are in big trouble in the UK, with bleeding canker, an introduced bacteria which causes browning on the leaves and cracks and blisters the bark. They still seem to produce confers though.
We don’t have horse chestnut trees here that I know of. We too have tree diseases such as Dutch Elm and the Emerald Ash Borer. The Ash Borer is a bug which lays eggs beneath the bark of the tree. Not enough Woodpeckers anymore. sad
Nice haiku; as in conkers so in life. 🙂
And your photo reminded me of playing conkers as a kid. I even found a tree over here, so I could educate my kids! 😀

There is something very tactile about them. I gave one to each of my colleagues at work and all of their faces lit up.

Aw that is lovely! 😀
I guess we are all kids at heart and a conker will certainly trigger that childhood memory. 😀
