I am Stephen. I live in Bristol, UK. I decided to shorten my profile...to this: Wildlife, haiku, travel, streetart, psychogeography and my family. Not necessarily in that order.

It’s such a pity; I have not seen a magpie in years. I don’t think we have any in the US at all. Nice haiku. Apt for this time of year.
P.S. As a marine biologist, how would you best describe the material which comprises a shrimp’s shell?
Thank you for that. I was peeling some raw shrimp prior to cooking dinner a couple of evenings ago and I asked myself what is this is it cellulose or what/ I figured cellulose was a plant material so what’s it doing on a shrimp. Learning something new is exhilarating. Proverbs 99 – Teach a wise man and he will be yet wiser.
Not content with just twigs, they have been excavating mud from the holes in the lawn (dug by foxes and the dog) to shore up the nest. I wanted to add that extra bit to the haiku, but it was just too much information.

I’m found of saying “it’s better to be a smart-arse than a dumb-arse!” whenever accused of such a thing

“Plunder” just sounds wonderfully appropriate for magpies.
