Liked to indicate I read it. However, this old man does not understand the reference. In my youth (while still at school) I worked on a turkey farm in Cromhall, near Wooten-Under-Edge. 6 billion pounds of turkey would have fed …. or did you mean 6b pounds sterling? which by the would feed … Well who knows. Sorry to be confused. Put it down to a distant disconnect. Or, you can put me down, LOL.

One of the two prime ministerial candidates, Jeremy Hunt, has said that if elected he would allocate £6 billion to prop up the farming and fishing industry in the event of a no deal Brexit. My point is that if Brexit was bringing us so many economic benefits why on earth do we need to set aside any money at all for achieving it? Famously, farmers and fishermen voted overwhelmingly to leave, but both groups have a huge amount to lose when we do, hence turkeys voting for Christmas.
