and through the window I spy
a small trading ship.

- A memory of many, many hours looking out of the window of my Grandparent’s house which was opposite Falmouth Harbour in Cornwall – there was always something going on in the Carrick Roads (the natural harbour area or ria (flooded river valley)).
This is terrific. Just the sort of stuff I like. Life experiences recalled and shared for others to learn from and enjoy. And, who knows maybe shape their perspective on life, values and traditions.
OMG I have become my father and have started a rant.

A very mild rant. I love a good rant, as you’ll have noticed.

As an additional note, when I was in the army, one of my squadron mates was a fellow named Simon Payne. h was from Falmouth and used to speak about how much he loved that area, Perhaps now I understand better.

I spent most of my holidays in Flushing with my grandparents and I don’t think I was ever happier.
